    Drawing from the state’s long-standing tradition of handsewn footwear, the Eastland brand is known for its Americana heritageinspired style that reflects our Maine roots and long-standing traditional shoemaking principles.

    60 Years of History

    1. Eastland is Incorporated

      Eastland is officially incorporated on 11/30/55 with owners Jonas B. Klein, Bertram Wolfson and Louis Fishman. Eastland manufactures private label, leather beaded moccasins for National Retail Chains and Mail Order Companies.

      Eastland introduces its first branded line of shoes - Easy Steps. The line’s boat shoeshelp establish Eastland’s products across the United States.

      Eastland’s wildly popular camp moc collection is customized by consumers with the iconic Eastland Knot. Eastland makes millions of pairs of camp mocs in its 3 Maine factories that employ over 750 people.

      To produce additional constructions that reflect changing style trends, Eastland expands manufacturing to Italy, Brazil and China.

      To commemorate the company’s 55th anniversary, the Eastland Made in Maine Collection is introduced. This premium collection of signature Maine-made heritage styles uses only domestically sourced, Made in the USA components and is sold to the finest department stores and boutiques around the world.
